In recognition of October as
Women’s History Month, Community Inclusion Month, LGBT History Month,
as well as
October 11th is International Day of the Girl, and
October 18th as National Persons Day – the day in 1929 when the historic decision to include women in the legal definition of “persons” was handed down by Canada’s highest court of appeal,
we celebrate
all women, femmes, trans-, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, or otherwise gender diverse or gender non-conforming identifying persons of Newfoundland and Labrador and want to showcase all the awesome things they do in our communities!
Coming to the SJFM on Sunday, October 16th from 10am – 2pm
